Our “Global Offices” blog series features a Q&A each month with one of Exponential’s offices across the globe. For the month of March, we chatted with the closely-knit Chicago team to find out what they love about the city, how they like to spend their time together, and why clients enjoy working with them. Many thanks to Jason Wolf.
Q: What year did the Chicago office open?
The Chicago office opened in late 2009.
Q: How many Exponential employees are at this office? Which departments are represented and how do the job functions relate to clients?
We are primarily a client-facing office with three Sales Executives (plus one open position), three Account Managers, one Solutions Marketing Manager and one Regional VP.
Q: Why do clients love working with the Chicago office?
Our clients love working with our team because we are fun, personable, honest, enthusiastic and very transparent. We all take a genuine interest in our clients and make a big effort to build strong and trusting relationships with each and every one of them. We have built a very solid reputation over the years as an office with an extremely high level of integrity.
Q: What are some favorite activities the office enjoys doing together?
Attending workout classes together (Barre, HIIT Bootcamp, yoga) , discussing our favorite TV shows (This is Us, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Westworld) and movies, sharing a love of food and drink and simply hanging out together outside of work.
Q: What does your office love most about Chicago? Any favorite local spots?
Definitely being outdoors in the summer! We love all of the fantastic restaurants and bars (Boss Bar!) along with attending festivals, concerts, sporting events, being on or near the lake and walking along the Riverwalk.
Q: Any team mottos?
Some lines heard regularly in the office include: “What’s for lunch today?” and “Where are all the bathroom keys?” Also, “Crawford. Crawford! He’s ignoring us again…”
Q: What is one interesting fact most people don’t know about the Chicago office?
On average, we sneeze 10 times throughout each day. That’s approximately 1.2 sneezes per person.
Q: Anything else you’d like to add?
We are a very close-knit group who really enjoy each other’s company and do everything possible to support one another in any way we can.
